LADYSMITH RATHA YATRA
On Friday 29th May, Shashika Mooruth performed an evening of bhajans and
a parody on When Bollywood becomes Krishna Conscious at the ISKCON
temple, Ladysmith. Once again her audience were left spellbound with her
talent and melodious voice! Many of them once again came to meet her and
express their joy at hearing pastimes on Lord Krishna being sung.

performed at the popular annual Royal Show.
A combination of
devotional and film hits set to a theme again left her audience
stunned. Although
the weather was freezing, people stood for more than three hours to
watch the concert that included many other local South African talent.

"AN EVENING TO REMEMBER"
Shashika Mooruth rendered bhajans and film songs
at a concert on the 25th April, Shri Luxmi Narayan Temple,
Mobeni Heights, South Africa. The audience were left spellbound
as she belted out old songs and recent film hits that
brought memories to the hearts of all present. The entire
concert was conducted by Shashika and at the end the audience
was disappointed that the concert ended. They requested more and
more! People stood in a long line to meet her and express their
gratitude for her beautiful singing. One lady from the audience
actually was in hospital and took a temporary discharge from the
hospital just to attend the concert. On that evening GOPALA,
Shashika's latest bhajan album was launched by prominent
businessman Mr Ranjith Ramnarain. |

"EXPLORE YOUR VOICE"

A series of workshops were conducted by Shashika
Mooruth in Durban recently during the period of May at
Ayurshakti Wellness Centre and Spa, Morningside, Durban, South
Africa.
The six hour workshop was well attended by
sincere singers from different parts of Kwazulu Natal. Emphasis
was placed on breathing techniques and exercises to enhance the
natural voice.
Participants expressed their gratitude and
desire to have more such workshops hosted for their benefit.

DURGA TEMPLE, RICHARD;S BAY
The Shri Durga Temple hosted
Shashika Mooruth in an evening of bhajans. The satsang was well
attended by all the different satsang groups in that area
namely, the Divine Life, Ramakrishna Mission, ISKCON, Sathya Sai
movement etc. It was very inspiring to see the unity and harmony
in the community between the different satsang groups. As
Shashika rendered bhajans she explained the essence which meant
a lot to the audience. Encouraging the children as well to
participate made her win the hearts of the devotees.

EXCERPT FROM A LETTER
"I just wished to share an incident with you. On Sunday
feast during the prasadam we here at Iskcon Ahmedabad play
some kirtans.
I played some kirtans by Sivarama Swami and when it finished
the next track was yours "Swagatam Krishna".
I was honouring prasadam that time so one devotee asked me
who is this lady singing? I told him that it was you.
Then when I came out another devotee approached me and
asked to tell him more
about you. In our talks he told me how his parents were
attracted to Krishna just
because of your music.
See how your voice attracts so many souls.
