Sacinandana Swami
is a prominent guru within the International Society for Krishna
Consciousness (commonly known as the Hare Krishnas) Born in Germany, he
was initiated by the movement's founder, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
Prabhupada, in 1972 in Hamburg and is well known throughout ISKCON for
his kirtana and his lectures. EARLY YEARS During his early years within ISKCON, Sacinandana Swami
performed the service of translating Prabhupada’s books from the English
language into Germna. After some time he joined the main sankirtana (book
distibution) party in Germany and was instrumental in developing the
congregational preaching throughout Germany especially and also other
countries within Northern Europe. The Gauranga
Bhajana and Nityananda
Bhajana groups both came together as a result. In later years,
Sacinandana Swami helped start various farm communities and projects
around Europe, including the Goloka
Dhama project in
Germany. TRAVELS Sacinandana Swami has made a number pilgrimages to holy
places in India, often traveling to Vrindavan for intensive 'japa'
retreats. He also visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Mount Kailash,

ACADEMIC SERVICE In terms of educational development within ISKCON,
Sacinandana Swami has conducted classes at the Vaisnava Institute for Higher
Education and the Bhaktivedanta College project at Radhadesh. His new
emphasis in this field lies in the 'Veda Academy', which presents the
culture of Krishna consciousness through Vedic sciences, art and philosophy.
The Veda Academy is already active in eight countries, and promises to
