The legendary actor Dharmendra ji (Paaji) passed away today at the age of 89. It was 2016 when he arrived at LM Recording Studio. I was busy dubbing for an album when the studio manager requested we allow Dharmendra ji some time for a dialogue dubbing he needed to finish urgently. This is when I got to interact with him and I must say he was very happy to give us time to listen, to share some music and a photo.
What touched me most was his simplicity.
Despite being a legend of Indian cinema, Dharmendra ji walked in with the humility of a true artiste, soft-spoken, affectionate, and genuinely interested in the music playing in the studio.
He had that rare old-world charm: gentle eyes, a kind smile, and a presence that instantly made you feel comfortable.
Even in those few moments, you could sense why generations adored him,not just for his films, but for the human being he was.
Meeting him was a reminder that greatness and humility can indeed coexist. One of the most memorable interactions of my life. Today, that memory feels even more precious.

One morning in Vrindavan, Krishna asked Radha:
“Radhe, why does your singing touch my heart more than my flute touches yours?”
Radha smiled and replied:
“Because, Kanha… when you play the flute, the world hears you.
But when I sing, I am calling only you.”
Krishna closed His eyes, listening.
Just one soft note escaped Radha’s lips, pure, full of love.
And Krishna whispered,
“Radhe… this one note is sweeter than all the ragas in my flute.

A trip to Drakensberg some years ago… I found the photo in my collection. Recalling my thoughts at that time, standing on this rock, I felt an indescribable stillness. Surrounded by the vastness of nature, I realized how small we are in front of creation, yet how deeply connected we are to it.
The mountains whispered strength, the breeze carried freedom, and the silence reminded me that music is not only in sound but it is in every heartbeat of nature.

Mirabai with Shri Krishna, taken at Merta, her birthplace in Rajasthan.
Merta is where Mirabai spent her early life before her marriage into the royal family of Mewar, and she holds a special place in my heart.
Her simplicity in saffron attire reflects renunciation and complete surrender.
The ektara in her hands represents her music and poetry, her chosen path of devotion and Krishna behind her, playing the flute, shows the eternal bond of the devotee and the Lord, where the Lord is always present for one who calls with pure love.
This picture beautifully expresses how Mirabai lived, her body in the world but her soul forever united with Krishna.

Govind Kund at Govardhan is a deeply sacred and serene spot. It carries immense spiritual significance, as it is connected to the divine pastimes of Shri Krishna and the Govardhan Hill. Pilgrims often stop here during their Govardhan Parikrama to rest, pray, or reflect.

What I find most striking about Govind Kund is the atmosphere of stillness and devotion. The calm waters seem to hold the vibrations of centuries of prayer, kirtan, and remembrance of the Lord. Sitting here, I feel transported beyond time, it becomes less about sightseeing and more about entering a space of surrender and connection.

It’s a place where one can truly experience the blend of nature, history, and divinity, all harmoniously tied together in the sacred land of Braj.
